So far I haven't been able to do it. Could you send me some more information about the 3 articles? Were they perhaps from inet groups, and were munged by the mailing list interface software? For example comp.os.vms is also the INFO-VAX mailing list. I am not sure how the interface between the mailing list and usenet news could tell that any particular article was a followup or what should be in the references line.
