We have identified SH as a strategic target for anti-cancer chemotherapy (Snell et al, Br. J. Cancer 57: 87-90, 1988). The project will involve the isolation and expression of the human SH gene and site-directed mutagenesis to characterise novel inhibitor-binding interactions. Further details may be obtained from Dr Keith Snell (0483 571281 ext 2515) or Dr Peter Sanders (ext 2665). The molecular biology group at Surrey is well-funded and has excellent resources and currently contains over thirty research staff. Computer graphics and X-ray crystallographic facilities are also available. The appointment is funded by the Cancer Research Campaign and is initially for a period of three years at a starting salary of up to 12150 pounds sterling per annum. Applications in the form of a c.v.
