The replies confirmed what I thought should work, namely that one should be able to go straight out of port 9 on the DELNI on to thinwire through a normal transceiver. Now comes the stupid bit - I had a broken DELNI. Worked OK in stand-alone mode but port 9 was dead. Replaced DELNI, everything works fine.
