  I'm new to the net and I'm sure this has been asked before, but... 

 What is minix? I gather it is a psuedo unix. I have an Atari st and 40 meg HD.
how much RAM is needed to make minix worthwhile? will it support my hard drive?
can I run my current software (esp. cad-3d 2.0  and gfa) under minix, if not is
there any (good)software that does run under it? Hows the doc's, any support
available (besides this newsgroup :^)? Oh and does it support multitasking?
Last but not least where can I get it(nope no atari store for many moons walk 
from here).
