Hi,
Does anyone know how to apply patches correctly on Minix?

Let me describe my problem:  I have Minix 1.2 installed, but I always get
the irritating blanking of the screen since I have EGA.
I got the patch from bugs.nosc.mil to fix the problem, and I also got
the program "patch" which should supposedly do the job.
However, patch complains about something like "a new type of C patches 
which it can't handle".
Can someone help with this problem?
