I got 1.1 Minix from a distribution tape (not the floppies).

I got the file d1.1-1.2.tar.Z from bugs.nosc.mil.

The directions in file "rearrange" tell me to move 1.1/minix/commands/sh.h
but I find no such file; I move 1.1/minix/include/sh.h instead.

**** I PRESUME THAT THIS IS OK.


The directions in file "rearrange" tell me to remove 
1.1/minix/commands/changemem but I find no such file so I do nothing.

**** I PRESUME THIS IS OK.


The directions in file "rearrange" tell me to move 1.1/minix/tools/diskfix.asm
but I find no such file.  

**** HELP!!! I THINK I NEED THIS FILE.


The above glitches lead me to believe that the tape distribution may not
be the same as the disk distribution of 1.1, and that I may have trouble
when I actually try to put everything together.

**** IS THIS TRUE???


I have heard mention on the net of the existence of lists of checksums for
the various files of a correct baseline Minix.  

**** WHERE CAN I GET THESE FOR 1.1, 1.2, AND 1.3???

The file "diff.patch" evidently is intended to be run using the minix binary
program "patch".  I do not have the source or a man page for "patch".

**** HOW DO I USE "patch"???

I would prefer to do the patching on a Sun computer running SunOS 3.4, but
I do not find any program named "patch".

**** IS THERE SOME EQUIVALENT ON THE SUN FOR "patch"???
**** DOES ANYONE HAVE THE SOURCE TO "patch"????

The first line of "diff.patch" is
	diff -rc2 v1.1/root/minix/commands/ar.c v1.2/root/minix/commands/ar.c
which I presume is the command that created the patch file.  But my system
man page description for "diff -rc2" does not seem to quite jive with the 
contents of the "diff.patch" file.

**** DOES ANYONE HAVE A DESCRIPTION OF THE "patch" INPUT FILE FORMAT???

Any help y'all can give me would be much appreciated, as I'm kinda new to
this stuff.  ;-).   Thanks in advance.
