This distribution has swamped my mailbox, and I can't afford to stay directly linked to it -- Thanks!! Hello there! I've been having many troubles with ASDG's VD0: Ram Drive, and I'm hoping someone can help me... My computer: A-1000, with 512k of ram @ $80000. [yep, I hacked it in!] My startup sequence: FailAt 10 ;Not without the extra memory, We're not! Setpatch Make512K >Nil: Addmem 80000 FFFFF Mount VD0: Startproc ; ARP 1.3 - Startproc starts driver Shell S/Shell-Startup ; Drew-Dillon-Borreo 3.03A Shell I have both the addmem that clears memory, and the one that does not (as far as I know) - Neither makes any difference. I will use AddMemForever when I seek and find a couple of cold solder joints that are still lurking (they make the memory occassionally unreliable :-) )... My mountlist is the one that ASDG provides, with the exception that HighCyl is set to 31, and BufMemType is 5. I can mount the device, write to the device, list the device's directory, and delete files. But, if I try to read the files: Boom! Read/Write errors. The device is also _not_ recovering. I called ASDG, and they were unhelpful, to say the least. Whoever answered the phone even asked me if I had registered the product!!! I'm not inclined to register somthing that can't be made to work :-) . I do not know what Perry Kivolowitz's e-mail address is, but if anyone knows, I'd appreciate the chance to ask him this directly. He wasn't in when I called. Hope someone can HEAAALLLPP! me....
