I wrote the original "file" which can be found in the MC68010 directory on Fish Disk #18. Among the things included was the DeciGEL program (for all those '010 pains running poorly written software (if you don't get the pun, don't ask :-) ) written by Scott Turner. The 68010 is a pin-pin replacement for the 68000, and MOST "new" software doesn't require the use of DeciGEL anymore (in fact I've been running 68020 Amigas for over 2 1/2 years now and haven't used DeciGEL since 1986). A lot of the info in the "file" pertains to opening up the A1000. If you know how to open up your system and protect against static damage, just go ahead and replace the chip. I know of NO simple way to switch between the 68000 and 68010; you will have either one or the other installed, period. For that reason, I have a buncha Amigas, each with a different CPU for testing purposes, though the Amigas I use daily all have 68020 processors.
