Message-ID: <8905230428.AA05544@obsolete.UUCP> Date: 23 May 89 03:22:08 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The Internet Lines: 16 I realize that people who use ProDOS 8 exclusively might be a little miffed that they won't be able to manipulate forked files, but chalk it up to progress. Most of the files that will be forked (such as GS applications) aren't useful under ProDOS 8 anyway. Forked files (and the new Resource Manager in System 5.0) will enable developers to do some real cool things, such as giving the user the ability to change how a program works withou recompiling it. Having icons, cursors, dialogs, etc. will make developer's lives easier, which means we'll see more IIgs software, which I'm definitely in favor of.
