I don't know the exact reason, I expect that some kind of short in the plug is causing it to generate so many interupts that the computer goes into what I call "super slow mode" in which text output slows to a trickle (like typing "speed = 50). It also messed up graphic redraws. I can usually fix it by wiggling the mouse but it gets really annoying. I called the local Apple dealer and they said that it would cost around $95 to fix the port (probably a $4.00 part). I opened up the keyboard and the mouse port look like a snap in part. I want to get some advice before I try to fix it so any suggestions? Collin I do know one thing. When I do get it fixed, I am going to get an extension cable and plug THAT in to the mouse port and plug the mouse into that...
