Wow, was I shocked! It was not the articles that shook me, but the abundancy of hardware products advertised for the Amiga. There were numerous sound and video digitizers, CPU accelerator boards, and at least 4 different Genlocking products. The software looked equally as amazing. They had 3D development systems that had output that blew CAD-3D right off its disk! The graphics on the Amiga seem to encourage all these great products, and the expandability of the 2000 and 2500 seem to make hardware even better. My point of this message is simple. In the future of Atari, is there going to be any real expandability? Are all the ST and Mega people going to be left with a pile of wires going to multiple boxes with all sorts of fancy upgrades that should be inside the computer? Why can't there be an ST with 4 or 5 slots inside for real expansion? Another box for another upgrade is just plain stupid! Granted, The ST is VERY powerful, but to get all of its power, you have to have an octopus of hardware laying all over your desk! What's wrong with an IBM style case?
