Co., Inc., Everett, WA Lines: 33 After reading through the last two MacWeeks, and a judicious call to MacConnection, it sounds like SuperCard is just around the corner. MacConnection is taking orders for it now for $139; they expect it in no more than two weeks. My question: has anyone heard of any promotional deals that Silicon Beach might be planning for current SuperPaint owners to buy SuperCard at a reduced rate? I doubt it, but I thought I'd ask, as I'm planning to buy SC -- the beta Charlie Jackson showed here was certainly impressive, and since HyperCard 2.0 is rumored not to have color (see Mac the Knife)... Also, I noticed that Informix will sell you Wingz for $99 plus your Excel disk. Sounds like a good deal to me... (I have a 68030-based machine...) Now if I can just get the nerve to actually go *into* a Mac software store -- I've been doing all my purchases through mail order. Finally, MacConnection says NetTrek isn't in yet, but I have patience... and a crying need for a decent Macintosh game. (Yes, I have Tetris, and no, I'm not a Crystal Quest fan.) I've heard HUNT FOR THE RED OCTOBER isn't anything to write home about. Anyone tried MIGHTYNERD, a game advertised in the back of MacWeek the week before? Some kind of super-hero parody, apparently... PS I am not connected with any of these organizations in any way, and try to stay unconnected as a rule.
