Which is why you have to be wary of Tandy price comparisons: they'll compare list price against list price and show that they're better. What they DON'T tell you is that EVERYBODY pays Tandy list price, while nobody but a damned fool pays, say, IBM list price! On the other hand, individual RS stores and computer centers MAY decide to offer their own discount programs; I bought my Tandy 2000 (that's another story in itself...) in 1984 from the Harvard Square store; at the time, they were offering 10% off to Hahvahd and MIT students, but only that store.
