On all three, the monitor screens are becoming very fuzzy and out of focus, so much so that the machines are becoming unusable. Strangely, immediately after leaving 'Idle' mode in the morning when starting work, the image is reasonably clear, but it quite quickly gets worse (in about 5 minutes) and then stays bad. Xerox's "cure" is to replace the monitor unit, at a cost of about US$3000 each. Is this problem a common one? Can we cure it? We would be prepared to change the tube if they are available and that is what is required. Nigel Gilbert Department of Sociology University of Surrey, UK gilbert@uk.ac.surrey
