Distribution: usa Organization: AT&T Network Systems - Lisle Illinois Lines: 13 I just had an application where I wanted to test for the simple existance of a file. I was surprised that test(1) did not have a primitive for this. Now, I realize that I can make this test with ls(1), but I was curious as to why (if there is a reason) that -e file true if file exists was not included with the other test primitives. Anyone know?
