The problem was that my time/mail notice would disappear seemingly spontaneously and that loadst would disappear completely out of the process table. One person kindly responded with a suggestion, but it didn't help. Now I've gotten some information to contribute: the problem can be produced at will simply by executing keyboard-quit (C-g). Mysteriously, it also happens when I use C-g in the sequence C-h c C-g (describe-key-briefly, keyboard-quit), which as I recall is supposed to disable the key. I have probed around a little in source code, and I notice that loadst.c was changed recently. The problem doesn't exist on systems around here that are still running 18.52. Can anybody offer any suggestions? Thanks in advance. -- ================================================================= Lynn D.
