Everything considered, it generally works pretty well, but I'm wondering if anyone has written a PD/shareware version of this code that is faster. I need something that will match an arbitrary regexp forwards or backwards, saving \(..\) field offsets in a fixed number of registers (basically, complete re_search() functionality). Anyone?
