I have been trying to use kill files with no success. 
I hope this is the right news group to ask the following questions:

1 - In what format keywords are put into a kill file?
2 - What can you kill? In other words, is it just the subject
    line the kill program is looking at or is it the entire contents 
    of the articles.
3 - Is uppercase characters differentiated?
