"Neurology" usually refers to medical study of the brain as an organ;
e.g. reaction to drugs, blood sugar, etc.  "Neurobiology" is the more
general study of nervous systems from the biologist's point of view
(e.g. dissecting leeches, recording from individual nerve cells, etc.).

The pseudo-science you are referring to is called "Computational
Neuroscience" :-)
