The book that you are refering to is "Introduction to Compiler Construction with Unix" by Axel T. Schreiner and H. George Friedman, Jr., Prentice-Hall Inc. 1985. ISBN 0-13-474396-2. The book has a lot of code, and not too much theory, and tells more about Lex and Yacc than compilers, but it is a good addition to the library. < dave [Also, on the same topic: -John] From: William J. Poser I recommend reading Chapter 8 of Kernighan & Pike's {\it The UNIX Programming Environment} before tackling Schreiner & Friedman.
