I am not familiar with the Starlan-10 product, but am impressed with
Ungerman-Bass' solution to Ethernet over UTP; the product is called
Access/One and I am fairly certain that it does conform to 10BASET.

If you are seeking an Ethernet solution over unshielded twisted pair
wire, I recommend that you take a look at Access/One.

Disclaimer:  I have nothing to gain from endorsing Ungerman-Bass
products, I'm just impressed with some of their equipment.
