Austin, TX Lines: 44 Help, please.... I am trying to hook a modem up to my Sun 4/110 that is running SunOS 3.2 and can't quite seem to get it to work. The problem seems to be when I enable logins to the port that the modem is hanging on. Configuration: o The modem is connected to serial port a. o I turned off the software carrier in the kernel with the following mod: device zs0 at obio ? csr 0xf1000000 flags 0 priority 3 (I got desperate and was trying the modem on both ports). o I create a minor device that looks like: 0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root 12, 128 Jun 8 15:09 cua o I changed the ttys entry so that it looks like: 1fttya o This corresponds to my gettytab: f|std.1200|1200-baud:\ :fd#1:sp#1200: o I have an entry in my /etc/remot that looks like: modema:\ :el=^D^U^C^S^Q^O:ie=$%:oe=^D:br#1200:dv=/dev/cua: Now, when I try the command "tip modema", I get the following response: tip: /dev/cua: No such device or address all ports busy So, I edited the ttys entry, it reads "0fttya", effectively disabling the getty on that port. Now I can tip just fine to the modem, but the login is disabled. Has anyone encountered anything like this? Anyone see any blatent errors?
