Here is the cheapest 2400 baud modem price I've seen -- QUERY, not 
recommendation, I wonder if anyone's had experience with them:
PC Magazine 4-11-89 p. 184,  $89 (eighty nine dollars) for a half card PC
internal modem, "100% Hayes compatible", with Bitcom software.
