Lines: 31 I am very confused. Can someone send to me a document explaining the nature of these networks upon which mail/posts/etc. are flying back-and-forth? For example, I would like to know: 1. What is the format of all of these addresses that I see? I.e., what is "cts.com" in my address? 2. What are BITNET, USENET, ARPANET, etc.? 3. What is uucp? 4. How do smart mailers know such complex networks that must be in a state of constant flux? 5. How are unique node names maintained? 6. Is there a "God" of the networks who tends to all these matters? 7. Who pays the bill? 8. Millions of other questions to make my ignorance complete. Thanks! ______________________________________________________ \ UUCP: {rosevax, crash, orator}!orbit!pnet51!mvg \ ARPA: crash!orbit!pnet51!mvg@nosc.mil \ INET: mvg@pnet51.cts.com \ _______________________________________________________________ Mitchell \ / "While the definite exclusion of the Natives from the more | Vincent X remunerative jobs has not been urged upon us, the same | Gossman / \ result would follow certain uses of the Wage Board.
