 Mr. Miller, I won't argue the point about my crude display of manners. They
 were and I have since made a (weak?) attempt at an apology. I'll accept
 dressing downs where necessary, but it would help to follow conversational
 threads before forming replies. This small rule applies to all of us.

 This is a public apology to Dr. Tanenbaum and all others whom I offended
 with my original message.
