As I had reported earlier I was experiencing a bizzarre problem where I could
not format diskettes, it would begin the procedure and then dump out as though
it were finished.  

I solved the problem!  It was not kooky hardware--It had been suggested to me 
that it might be somthing else that I was running, I was told to try booting
from a "clean" 1.3 disk, then it hit me....I wasn't running anything else I
was *aware* of...it was a virus.

This virus although it apprears not to be able to do anything malignant as far
as trashing disks or files--is capable of blocking attempts to format a disk.
I was *NOT* amused to say the least...
