        I have used the MicroSPARC (now MindCraft) assembler for quite some
time now on my //c.  It is relatively easy to use and I think it is currently
$49.95.  I also bought The Beginner's Guide to Assembly Language when I got the
   assembler because it had many exapmle programs.  It not only helped me learn
6502/65C02 assembly, but also many of the pseudo-ops specific to this assembler.
   Both can be ordered through Nibble magazine.

        Since I got my //GS I have upgraded to the Merlin Pro 16 assembler.  The
 packag
   e came with the Merlin 8 (ProDOS 8) assembler but I have not really
looked at that too much.
