I hate to be rude and all, but that should read: If you are using DOS 3.3, use @echo off. . . . The @ sign was introduced with IBM PC-DOS 3.3, I assume that the MS-DOS 3.3s carry it also. Prior to that all you could do was put a CLS on the next line and pray that the users eyes were closed for a second.
