I do not know what your needs are, but I am sure you will get many replies
to this oft asked question.  

Some time ago I determined that I LIKE seeing the initial ECHO OFF displayed.
This let me know very clearly that the command I am executing is actually
a BATch file that I might need/want to modify.  To me it is an unobtrusive
benefit.
