Well, THIS snotty-nosed elite programming type wishes to state, for the record, that anyone who doesn't believe that BASIC can be used for some serious programming should take a look at the Microsoft BASIC compiler for IBM-PCs. One of the first languages I learned was BASIC, back in 1975. It was nothing like this! This version has stuff I never dreamed you could do with the language. I'm not saying that BASIC can do everything. But if it suits your programming needs, BASIC is as good a language as any other. The important thing is to write good code!
