To the gent from Ashton-Tate who questioned my intentions:

I am using TOPS networking software at my office and I needed
to temporarily change one of the serial numbers for debugging purposes.
I don't read the newsgroup very often so I was unaware that I was being
flamed.  Obviously, if I was asking a question like that with dubious
intent, I would have been a bit more discreet about it.  I don't think
software pirates post their questions to a nationally read newsgroup.
Sheesh...Take your paranoia elsewhere.
