I have two programs one of them is PCTOOLS' PcRestor.exe and another is DS.EXE (a shareware program) called directory scanner. When I try to run them, they both give the following message: Packed file is corrupt The really puzzling thing is that if something else is loaded into memory, like some TSR program, they both run just fine! I tried running them after booting u with no config.sys or autoexec.bat; just plain old dos. They give me the error message. However, if I load some TSR into memory, they run fine. My real problem is that I want to get rid of TSR's, having acquired windows 386, but now I am in a catch 22; windows doesn't like TSR's and these programs can't seem to work without them. I checked, and as far as I can tell, this isn't a DOS message, and it can't be the program's message because they are both exactly the same. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on? Thanks Milan mms00786@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu
