Well, you need a screen driver that supports the EGA 43-line-mode !  But
you seem to be lucky, because there is one available in comp.binaries.ibm.pc,
in v02i084+085 nethack, ver 2.3e, SUPPORT FILES.  It's called NANSI.SYS, and
comes along with a *.doc.  I have no idean where it originated, but the
43-line-mode works fine.  (Of course don't expect `more' to change it's
behavior one bit !)
