Procomm Plus has file handling and integer math (wow, iterative loops at last) and addresses a number of other shortcomings in the Procomm 2.4x CMD language. It also has a few new bugs in it's terminal emulation and host mode operation. I can't speak to your question about ascii file transfers. I haven't used that feature much in either version.
