It looks like I didn't give enough information about my problem. The host that I work on is Tenex (not for long, as the cost of keeping this beast running is very high). After a screen full of text the operating system pauses and *beeps*, re- quiring a Cntl-Q before continuing. No setup parameter in procomm will change the duration, volume, etc. of this beep. I like the suggestion of using a "volume control" if all else fails, but I'd rather do it through software. What size pot should I use if it comes to that? Thanks, Steve (backus@science.utah.edu)
