The Mac Plus to hayes modem modem cable should _not_ be a null modem. If you are connecting DTE to DCE (mac to modem) the cable is straight through. If you connect DTE to DTE (mac to imagewriter) then you need a null modem. So you do need a null modem for the imagewriter, this is not the same as the mac to hayes cable. Glen
