[HyperCard hangs when trying to open stacks]

Have you replaced your copy of HyperCard *and your Home stack*? A corrupted
copy of the application might cause these symptoms. It's less likely that a
bad Home stack would cause an actual hang, but it is possible.

If all else fails in the attempted recovery of a stack that contains
text you want to keep, try changing the stack's type signature from STAK
to TEXT and read it with a text editor.
