I've had the same problem (failure of an internal drive to mount on an
SE). In fact, mine fails to spin up. It's from CMS and is a Seagate drive. 
My dealer tells me this is a common failing with both companies. The
problem will generally disappear if you turn the SE on and off several
times, which isn't really a good solution.
