We have it set up to print to an apple LaserWriter that's connected to a Sun 3. Once we get past the problem with npd and public window servers and such, this works fine. However, I recently set my account up such that the LaserWriter was the *default* printer for me, instead of our non-existant NeXT printer. After that point, the Printer application died every time I tried to set it up. So, I experimented a bit, and by nukeing my entire .NeXT directory I was able to get the Printer application to work again (once the .NeXT tree was re-created). As long as I leave the default printer set to the local NeXT printer (which doesn't exist in our case), it works fine. Hope this helps somone. -- Doug.deJ | dd26@andrew.cmu.edu | Carnegie-Mellon University ******** | ...!harvard!andrew.cmu.edu!dd26 | Do not attend this college.
