A number of people here are wondering if the 68881 in a Sun 3/60 can be
replaced be a 68882 running at the same clock rate, and if so, how much
performance improvement might be gained (I know it depends on the
instruction mix - just give me some ideas, okay?).

How about increasing the clock rate of the 6888X?
