We have both spice2g6 and spice3b1 here and they both run under SUNOS 3.5. I can't vouch for what DECUS distributes, but ours works OK (it's all fortran except for one C file containing some auxiliary routines and one small C post-processing program). Spice 3b1 is a newer version with some additions and it is written in C. Both are public domain. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Date: Wed, 10 May 89 17:43:10 +0300 From: Sakari Jalovaara Subject: Re: PD SPICE for SUN 3? > I know that DECUS distributes SPICE2 (version > 2G.6 in TAR format on 9 track tape). I don't know how usable 3B1 is, I'm still trying to hack a plotting interface for the X Window System version 11 (3B1 comes with X10 support.) Not public domain, but not too expensive. I understand that commercial versions of SPICE have more extensive device libraries. Thanks to all who took the time to reply to my query! It would appear that SPICE (3B1 at least) is not public domain - but reasonably priced. If I get any more info I will post it to SUN-SPOTS.
