One of the things that the GBU project is trying to do is make a Unix compatable OS and enviorment. One of the standard utilities of Unix is *roff programs. The standard manual pages are designed for nroff. It would be nice if gnu had this standard utility. Also, (La)TeX is great when you have a good display device, but loses on a dumb tty. /Bob... --
