I would like to thank all of the persons that responded to my previous
posting of this same subject.  It turned out that it was a silly question;
my routine that handles redrawing those lines was not behaving correctly
and as a result the lines were simply not being redrawn.  This also 
accounted for other erratic behaviour in that particular program.
