Language Lab Lines: 31 I am going to be benchmarking several object-oriented database systems. The systems do not all run on the same hardware. Three of the benchmark programs that I will be running have the following functionality: 1. initialize a database 2. query for all the information in the database 3. query for a specific item in the database In order to fairly compare the two systems I need to factor out the differences in the machine and disk speeds. Does anyone know of benchmark programs, that I can get the source for, that would model any of the above functionality? If there are no benchmarks of this type, what standard benchmarks should I run to get the general relative performance of the two machines? Where can I get sources for these benchmarks? Please reply by e-mail, since I do not read this notes group very often.
