I had forgotton to reconfirm my return seat the next day and the Sydney ticket office was closed. I tried using AT&T's USA Direct to get the US International Desk, but the operator wouldn't put the call through to United's 800 number. As a last desperate measure :), I had the local operator get me the local United number in Chicago, then placed an international call to that number.
