A) The distributed Mushrc sets ALT_DEF_RC to /usr/lib/Mail.rc, which doesn't exist in HPUX {6.5,7.0}. Instead, HPUX has /usr/lib/mailx/mailx.rc which could be used. B) I think it is common (certainly is here) for HPUX to put its mail in /usr/mail rather than /usr/spool/mail; if so, it would be nice if this was ifdef'ed or otherwise automatically dealt with. C) The performance doesn't seem real good. Mush was compiled w/ 6.5 cc & optimization on. It consistently takes over a minute to open a mailbox with ~500 message in it (NFS file system) on an HP-370. It does seem to work, however. A diskless 3/60 takes less than 10 seconds to open this same mailbox, using the same rc files &c. If you know the 2 machines, this is quite a drastic performance turn-around. Anyone experienced this? Any ideas? Michael Helm (Internet M_Helm@lbl.gov) (my opinions only)
