First off, LOOK AT MY REPLY ADDRESS. Poor Russ Nelson, who manages our news, keeps having to forward mail to me because mail is not sent to where my header ASKS for it to be send. Your request assumes the average reader knows what sort of mail is available for the Amiga; I personally have no idea. Also, no one UUCP is available for Any machine. Sorry. For MS-DOS, a number of packages are out there. They include: UFGATE (UUCP to Fido net) FSUUCP (Fubar Systems UUCP) UULINK (Commerical package, $350) UUPC 1.5 (The widely known Interim version) UUPC/extended 1.07g (My version) plus other versions of UUPC, and at least one other commerical package (that package was reviewed with UULINK in Unix World early this year, with UULINK, I can't find the issue.) UUPC is free, FSUUCP is shareware, I have no idea about UFGATE. FSUUCP also has news support and more bugs than I was willing to put up with. UUPC 1.5 is available via anonymous FTP from simtel20.army.mil, directory PD1:. (Or did they move it to PD2: ?) UUPC/extended 1.07f both binaries and SOURCE are on clutx.clarkson.edu, accessible via anonymous FTP, in directory pub/uupc. I am currently updating the documents related to it (I found no less than 40 errors in 10 pages of docs) and making minor bug fixes. This will go online before 30 December 1989. An older version of UUPC/extended is also on CompuServe, I advise you do NOT use it because of garbled message headers. I have no access to CompuServe, I cannot replace the bad copy. The folks up in Vancouver (authors of the "official" UUPC 1.5) have my sources and are doing with them whatever people do when people mail you mangled code that you once knew. :-) FSUUCP is available from polyslo.calpoly.edu, also via anonymous FTP. I will have my system running as a Kermit server overnight once New England Telephone catches up from the NYNEX strike and installs my second line. Until then, the file is only available via FTP as described above. I will NOT mail out diskettes because I am updating the program as time allows and I refuse to perform multiple refreshes via mail. If someone else has a modifiedversion of UUPC and would like share it with me, I am interested. However, please read my list of fixes (in the UUPCUSR.ZIP file on clutx, or ask me to mail you a copy) before anything else; that list is fairly complete and can save a long discussion on what I have and have not done.
