Multi-button mice are brain-damaged. You haven't looked hard enough. I've seen at least two cases. Neither used a three-button mouse, though. Both cases have in common that the second button is dedicated to a single thing. First case was a general UI, where the second button is hardwared to "show me a menu". The second case was a paint program, where the second was dedicated to "eraser." I've never seen a real user deal with a three-button mouse without a card hanging off the side of the machine saying what they do.
