I have been collecting info on the WD ethernet controllers for
some stuff I will be working on (TCP/IP).  I don't know how
cooperative WD is overseas but I called their office in 
California and within two phone calls and a FAX they had
sent me (via overnight Federal Express) a package of
documentation and a disk containing working sample source
code.  I did have to promise not to write anything that
competes with them, but that's reasonable.
