According to the December 1989 list of Ada compilers validated by the Ada Joint Program Office (AJPO), as distributed by the Ada Information Clearinghouse there are no validated Ada compilers for the Amiga. Fred Fish Disk #154 contains an Ada syntax checker, but I haven't looked at it yet. The validated compilers list identifies 5 MS-DOS Ada compilers (AETECH's IntegrAda, AlsyCOMP by Alsys, Meridian Software's AdaVantage, JANUS/Ada by R.R Software, and TELESOFT's TeleGen2), and 3 MacIntosh Ada compilers (Alsys for the MacII running A/UX, Meridian for the MacII and Mac SE/30 running 6.0.3, and TELESOFT for the MacIIx running A/UX). I know that I'd be interested in buying an Ada compiler for the Amiga in the $300 price range. I suspect it will be a long time before there are any public domain or free Ada compilers (who would keep up with the validation requirements). The closest I see to non-commercial Ada compilers are the Navy compilers developed by the Naval Underwater Systems Center for VAX/VMS and the Navy standard computers (UYK-43, UYK-44, AYK-14), New York University's NYU Ada/Ed for the Sun-3/60 (running Sun UNIX), and the York Ada Compiler Environment from York Software Engineering Limited/University of York (is this an educational or commercial endeavor?).
